About This Product
An off-white, water-based emulsion of oxidised high-density polyethylene wax, non-ionic in character, with a solid content of 36% and a pH of 7–9. The dispersed wax has a melting point of 115 °C. As a formulated product, the emulsion has no EINECS number of its own.
In water-based paints, coatings and printing inks it improves scratch resistance and surface water repellency and reduces blocking, and it is used in polishes for floors, furniture, leather and cars. Textile mills apply it in yarn and fabric finishing for a smooth, soft hand, leather finishers add it for feel and lustre, and it also serves in paper chemicals, in release agents for rubber, plastics and metal, and in concrete curing compounds.
Particle size, viscosity, emulsifier type, the acid value of the wax, freeze–thaw stability and shelf life are not stated; ask for them, and for the recommended storage conditions, before ordering. The melting point given is that of the wax, not of the emulsion. The stated pack is a 200 kg net drum; confirm other pack sizes when ordering.
