    Petroleum & Synthetic Waxes

    Low-Melt Polyethylene Wax (Softening Point 90–100 °C)

    About This Product

This synthetic polyethylene wax (CAS 9002-88-4) sits at the low-melting end of the PE wax range, with a softening point of 90–100 °C by ASTM D6090. It is very fluid when molten, at 10 ± 2 cP and 135 °C (ASTM D1986), yet hard at room temperature, with penetration below 10 dmm at 25 °C. Oil content is under 10%, density is 0.9 ± 0.02 g/cm³, and the wax comes as white to off-white granules.

In PVC it serves as a lubricant and as a carrier in one-pack compound stabilisers, and in filler masterbatch it helps wet and disperse the filler. Other uses given for the grade are general plastics, cable filling compounds, paints, inks and coatings, hot-melt adhesives, shoe creams, lubricants and mould release agents.

The grade is intended for industrial use only. Before supply, check softening point and viscosity against the delivered lot's own analysis certificate, confirm packaging (the data sheet lists 25 kg polypropylene or paper bags) and request the safety data sheet. Addition rate and processing temperature should be set by trials in the buyer's own compound.
