About This Product
FT wax is a synthetic paraffin built up from syngas by Fischer-Tropsch synthesis. The route yields a water-white, high-purity wax whose carbon chains sit in a narrow band, with very low oil content and good thermal stability. Formulators value it for an uncommon pairing of properties: a high softening point and considerable hardness on the one hand, a low melt viscosity on the other. That balance gives scratch resistance, control over gloss or matting, and effective lubrication while keeping the melt thin.
In PVC and CPVC compounds it serves as an internal and external lubricant and processing aid: melt viscosity drops, flow improves, parts release more easily from the mould and hold their dimensions. Producers of hot-melt and pressure-sensitive adhesives, printing inks and industrial coatings add it for hardness, for abrasion, scratch and block resistance, to stop settling and to steady viscosity. Further outlets are bitumen and asphalt modification, masterbatch and polymer compounding, rubber processing, polishes, textiles and cosmetic formulations, where it is chosen for controlled crystallinity, better wear and wrinkle resistance and a smooth feel.
